I’m thrilled and honored to have A Mountain of Crumbs reviewed by the Daily Telegraph (full review) and by the Guardian (full review).
I also feel privileged and delighted to have my essay Living with my Russian Mother published by the Daily Telegraph’s Stella Magazine (read the essay).
Many thanks to my British readers and reviewers!

Hooray for you! Did I tell you, we lived in Dnepropetrovsk? And Minsk?

Hi Elena
Could you please post your essay “Living with my Russian mother” here? The link to the Telegraph does not appear to work!
I have thoroughly enjoyed your book, which brought back memories from a school trip to Moscow and Leningrad in 1966.
Hope that you will visit the UK … I’m sure that you have a strong following here after the BBC Radio 4 serialisation!
Tim
Hi Elena
I loved the book. I saw it highlighted in the largest bookstore in London – I hope you have seen a lot of interest as a result. I read ‘The Street Without a Name’ by Kapka Kassabova around the same time (have you read this?) which is a not dissimilar book about a childhood in Bulgaria. I found the similarities and differences between the books fascinating.
Would love to read a sequal focussing on your experiences in America.
Thanks for writing the book,
Andrew
